Light Detection and Ranging commonly known as LIDAR has varied applications such as to create Asset Digitization, Elevation Mapping, Terrain Mapping, detect micro topography hidden by the vegetation, capture structure of the building etc.,.
LIDAR data collected during surveying must be processed to use it for further feature extraction and analysis purpose. Dense point clouds reflected from the target forms the LIDAR data. The very first step is to register the point clouds in the real-world coordinates. This data shall help firms make informed decision making
The point cloud classification involves, ground and non-ground classification and Advanced classification. The ground and non-ground points are classified as terrain and non-terrain features. The point clouds are classified as per client’s requirement.
The features on the earth surface are extracted as per the requirements of the project. Supervised and unsupervised classification is done for feature extraction.
The point cloud data extracted in the data acquisition stage are pre-processed and relevant texturing is done for easy visualization.
Information about the terrain is vital for projects involving earth terrain. Terrain models are created as part of feasibility study for infrastructure projects.
Verve has rich experience in creating terrain models below for various complex infrastructure projects
●Digital Elevation Model (DEM) ●Digital Surface Model (DSM)
●Digital Terrain Model (DTM) ●Contours
